MEDICAL MARIJUANA - - NOT A DRUG!!! STOP THE PERSECUTION!!!

Submitted by David Borden on
Texas and other "no-tolerance" states are taking advantage of people with medical problems who, for whatever reason, do NOT believe in taking man made medication, cannot take man made medication, etc. This problem goes further than this one case. But we feel that if we can make a point with this petition, maybe we can make a difference for really good people out there, that are persecuted because of a difference of opinion. This petition is to help one of the most amazing men...the best father....one of the best people anyone could meet, who is being ostracized from his child while posessing a MEDICAL CARD through Oregon. BUT because this started in TEXAS, this man, who has never hurt, lied or committed ANY atrocity that would make it unsafe for him to see his son. Because of his belief system, he takes in as little medication as possible. He has acute spina bifida and in order to be able to function, chose to not be on muscle relaxers. He is afraid of becoming addicted to man made chemicals, etc. He moved to Oregon in order to start a different way of life, which included legally receiving a Medical Marijuana card, so that he wouldn't break the law and that way it STOPS drug violence, etc. His family stood in a court of law and said that because of his smoking, he has to adhere to the following (being instructed by TEXAS COURTS) he must: 1. Submit to a hair follicle test 2. Any visitation MUST be under the supervision of his mother, because of the danger of the pot induced father 3. basically give up all civil rights in order to even SEE his son 4. HAD he signed a letter that said he would not smoke pot, all would be well This man: 1. Pays $400/mo child support PLUS $100 for insurance 2. Makes SURE that no matter WHAT, his son is protected, healthy and happy 3. Is trying to teach his child to stand up for what he believes and NOT to lie. 4. Has emotionally and financially supported his step daughter for more than 7 years 5. Has helped create a non-profit to make sure that ALL children are safe, healthy, educated, etc. 6. Has never allowed a child or another human being that entered our lives to go without 7. Has unconditionally loved his son, NEVER taken drugs and has been completely honest 8. Received his medical card LEGALLY through the state of Oregon INSTEAD of becoming strung out on DRUGS. We need help trying not only to help THIS particular case, but to help other people that are being persecuted because of this one particular HOMEOPATHIC attention to pain instead of CHEMICAL masking. We need help changing this archaic law. This is to help ALL people that may be going through something similar, simply because someone decided THIS wasn't as lucrative as maybe alcohol, caffeine or cigarettes. THIS is a homeopathic treatment. This is not drug abuse. If we can help legalize this, our crime rate, our national debt, the health of our fellow man..all of this could be better. A better life is not that hard as long as we work together. ******THIS IS PART OF A PETITION THAT WE HAVE GOING...WE ARE CONTIUALLY LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO SIGN******* PLEASE HELP THROUGH THE FOLLOWING LINK: http://www. thepetitionsite. com/1/help-stop-persecution-of-medical-marijuana-patients Informational Resources: 1998 NORML Report on the Domestic Marijuana Crop Marijuana Production in the United States (2006) Budgetary Implications of Marijuana Prohibition Short History of the Marijuana Laws Complete transcripts of the Congressional hearings for the Marihuana Tax Act - 1937 Marihuana, A Signal of Misunderstanding - US National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse, 1972 LaGuardia Committee Report, 1944 Advisory Committee on Drug Dependence (Wootton Report) - UK - 1968 The Report of the Canadian Government Commission of Inquiry into the Non-Medical Use of Drugs - Le Dain Commission - 1970 The Forbidden Fruit and the Tree of Knowledge - Legal History of Marijuana Prohibition - 1970 An Analysis of Marijuana Policy - National Academy of Sciences - 1982 DEA Ruling on Medical Marijuana - 1989 Report of the Research Advisory Panel for the State of California - 1989 Legislative Options for Cannabis - Australian Government - 1994 A Comparative Appraisal of the Health and Psychological Consequences of Alcohol, Cannabis, Nicotine and Opiate Use -WHO Project on Health Implications of Cannabis Use - 1995 Canadian Senate Special Committee on Illegal Drugs 37th Parliament, 1st Session - 2000 Letuspaytaxes. com
